Chef David Lee, this year’s Toronto Silver Medal winner of Nota Bene and Chef Lorenzo Loseto from George joined us in studio May 8th just one day before the series was set to air. Chef Lorenzo Loseto last years silver medalist and Chef David Lee explained it’s important to challenge yourself and set the bar high! These Chefs and eight others expertly prepared dishes for 650 people in just 90 minutes. This is truly an Olympian challenge.

GOLD MEDAL PLATES is an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at Canada’s most coveted culinary competition.

With six semi-finals taking place across the nation, this seven-part, one-hour series features superb wines, succulent dishes and the premier chefs in each city coupled with some of Canada’s best known Olympic and Paralympics athletes who serve as their assistants. In a dramatic competition to crown gold, silver and bronze medal culinary team in each city, and subsequently nation-wide, GOLD MEDAL PLATES is the ultimate celebration of Canadian excellence in food, wine, and athletic achievement.

All for a good cause, the GOLD MEDAL PLATES competition is a key fundraiser for the Canadian Olympic Committee as we countdown to the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver. Over $100,000 in funds raised.
