This particular wine comes from the cool Limari Valley, Chile’s “hot” new “cool” climate viticultural region. Located about 250 miles north of Santiago and not far from the Pacific, the valley has been referred to as “Limari’s magic lands”, whose minerals and precious stones once seduced the Inca Empire and are now the north door for Chilean viticulture. These lands are considered by many to be among the best for Chilean elegant cool climate reds.
Maycas del Limari is the first super premium winery from Vina Concha y Toro. This Syrah delivers big.
The nose is generous, with dark berry and plum fruit. On the palate enjoy the ripe fruit with spicy notes, ample tannins and good acidity.
A true find for $19.95 (Ontario) $24.99 (B.C.)
