Château Ksara Réserve du Couvent 2011, Georgia’s Wine Pick.
So in keeping with our theme today “off the beaten track” or a little out of the ordinary lets say… my wine pick comes from a place that most people wouldn’t ordinarily think of as a wine growing region… it actually comes from one of the oldest regions of wine production, over 5000 years!
And not only that but the producer of my wine pick has been making wine for over 150 years, it is the oldest, largest and most visited winery in this country.
So what is my wine pick? For $15.00 bucks! What a find!
A Syrah blend, 40% Syrah, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 30% Cabernet Franc it had beautiful intense berry fruit on the nose, was medium bodied and had a long finish, just tasted and felt great on the palate from beginning to end… And the wine is the Chateau Ksara Reserve du Couvent 2011 Syrah blend. Producer Chateau Ksara from the country of Lebanon! Now that’s extraordinary!
