Modus Marvels… Ruffino Modus 2008 IGT Toscana leaves us smacking our lips
Beautiful elegant wine, lush with silky tannins elicits oohs and ahhs as our impromptu gathering of friends sip away and break bread with a healthy wedge of gorgonzola and some sausage.
Modus is a blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, the typical trio to make up a Super Tuscan. This wine Modus, is so named due to the care taken in each varietal being individually picked when ripe and aged in small oak barrels. The result, a mouthful of plum, cherry, a touch of chocolate and with vibrant acidity and lively finish.
The label of Modus represents a modern interpretation of a historical property “The property “The rose of the winds is intertwined with the elements which form the soul of a great wine; the vine, the sun, the soil, the life, the time, the fruit, the manner, the wine”http://www.ruffino.com/pagine/pagina.aspx?ID=Poggio_Casci001&L=EN
Another loaf, and out comes another of our more recent discoveries, the freshest and most flavorful extra virgin olive oil you might ever enjoy! From “Olive It Tasting Bar” www.tastingoliveit.calocated in Whitby, Ontario where they follow the olive crush in the northern and southern hemispheres and bottle your choice extra virgin right on the premises. Dip and sip away, this turns out to be a heavenly afternoon!
