The wines of the VQA Lake Erie North Shore wine growing region of Ontario recently took centre stage. With latitude close to that of Bordeaux, as well as some parts of Italy and even California, this region is well situated, with over a dozen wineries now producing some amazing wines.

Considered Canada’s south coast, Lake Erie North Shore has a longer warmer growing season than Niagara. Being farther south it is and is particularly suited to the reds as the grapes have more time to ripen on the vine.
