Culinary and lifestyle experts emphasize budget stretching home entertaining solutions – Join us at the International Home Show October 10th-13th.

This is Canada’s largest fall home show and has enlisted the talents of top chefs and lifestyle experts to demonstrate how to get healthy gastronomic results this Thanksgiving by using local, seasonal foods that keep even special occasions within budget. Chef Massimo Capra, Rose Reisman along with Liaison College alumni Chefs Felix Sano, Angela Paula and Jeffrey Kenny put the “eco” in economical as they serve up good health courtesy of the local harvest.

Want a good wine to accompany Thanksgiving dinner, but want to choose wisely? On Saturday, October 11th join us with Executive Chef Darryl Fletcher of Aqua Star to offer tips on entertaining with ease (1pm). We will also select the perfect wine partners for autumn ranging from high to low end with some surprises in between. With the money you save, you can splurge on the fun food as Chef Darryl shows you how to whip up fancy appetizers in moments. At our second presentation (4pm), we will host the Joy of Chocolate and – a salute to chocolate from Purdy’s followed by a chocolate and wine pairing. Samples anyone?

But that’s not all! “Retro is back, from your grannies’ old Wedgewood China to your Mum’s green toaster”, says Toronto Star columnist Vicky Sanderson. “With wine glasses that don’t match, different sizes, different colours and of course different shapes, its’ about simplifying and being your own individual”! “It is our need to feel like we have a home base. The world is such a busy place we are yearning back to the good old days when there really was 24 hours in a day”. Yvonne Williams of Total Confidence showed us on our radio show how to empower ourselves and learn to do it ourselves! Forget the boyfriend, your ex or the handyman! you can do it yourself!
