This past week Georgia and I were joined on the air by our good friends Victor Miller founder of the Bartending School of Ontario along with wine educator Jim Shaw also known as the “Bar God.” The Bartending School of Ontario, voted Best Bartending School 3 years running by the Toronto Sun Reader’s Choice Awards, recently relocated to new digs on The Danforth and was finally back home after 35 years of operations. We wanted to catch up on all the news.
My son JD, our regular call screener on our radio show who had recently turned 18 took the BSO course this summer with a goal of some summer work also joined us on the air. He gave our listeners a first hand account of his experience at the school. Not only did he get work within one week of finishing the course he had a great time, learned a new skill, gained confidence and made some great money too. The BSO helps their graduating students find employment right away.
The Bartending School of Ontario offers convenient times and schedules to accommodate all kinds of lifestyles from all day sessions, one time a week for 4 weeks to weekend and evening sessions.
Program Cost: $210.00 Includes the Full Bartending / Mixology Program (manuals & all materials {see course content}). All 3 workshops (shooters, martini and beer) are included (sampling and therefore age of majority is in effect during these classes.) Thirdly, The Wine Council Certificate of Merit Program is also included at this price. Two Full Certifications and all workshops for only $210.00. A savings of over $350.00 anywhere else.
The Wine Ladies recommend for your next party hire a graduating student from the BSO. Loads of great benefits. It frees up the hosts to mingle with their guests, lowers the cost of the party as there is less wastage of opened unfinished wine and spirits, makes your guests feel special and allows a professional to keep an eye out for some guests her perhaps might indulge a bit too much. Besides that your professional knows to make better and more interesting drinks for your event.
Jim Shaw, suggested the Iron Butterfly as a perfect complement to Celebrity Chef Darryl Fletcher of Aqua Star’s Bacon Wrapped Dates. This interesting drink found the perfect date! Here are the recipes.
