Mr. Bath, the Professor of Viticulture at the world renown University of Melbourne has taken his passion, knowledge and experience and blended them together is create this magnificent wine, his first vinous creation. At the forefront of viticulture, Geoff has single handedly brought this Shiraz to us, from the selection of the vines, to the management of vineyard, to the final process of the winemaking, No vats here, of the traditional 50,000 liter size, Geoff’s extremely small production, 900 cases for worldwide markets, utilizes vats of only 1000 liters. This is truly the ultimate example of a boutique winery. This 2006 Shiraz is stunning, exhibiting the classic characteristics of the Shiraz, demonstrating viticulture at its best! Beautiful fruit of ripe plums and prunes, an aroma of blackberry jam with hints of dill., and eucalyptus, this very full bodied wine (14.8% alc.) delivers on the palate and lingers on and on in the finish. The name Goorambath is a combination of the the community from which it comes, Gooram and the name of the proud winemaker, Geoff Bath. 14.8% alc. Enjoy with strong flavored red meat dishes, particularly wild game and with hard cheeses. Also magnificent on its own, as an eye popping opener and conversation wine. $400.80
