Cannabis, The Next Disrupter! Growing And Going Green Has Arrived. Exploring Cannabis Wine, Cocktails, Edibles and More!
Coming up next on The Wine Ladies audio podcast! Launching Wednesday April 3rd, 2019
Follow us here so you don’t miss it!
We are delving into uncharted territory today with a focus on what is trending big time these days in Canada and the US. It is being touted by many as the biggest disrupter since the end of prohibition! That can only be the legalization of cannabis.
On our up coming podcast ( April 3rd, 2019) we will get the goods on the beverage buzz… de-alcoholised beverages infused with THC! How is this all going to work? What is and will be their availability? What does it mean to the wine and beverage industry with respect to wine and weed and wine and cocktails? Are they complimentary or competitors? (cannabis wine and drinks)
Also on the show today a med-tech company which has developed a unique and enhanced platform on which consumers can enjoy cannabis.
STARRING OUR ESTEEMED GUESTS
Chip Forsythe, CEO and winemaker Rebel Coast Winery, Sonoma, California.
Listen to Chip at 3:53 minutes in the audio podcast.
When cannabis became legal in California they knew if anyone was going to make weed wine it would be them. But the problem was cannabis and alcohol cannot be sold under the same roof, or even in the same bottle. So, we came up with a simple solution. We make our wines in Sonoma, remove just the alcohol and replace it with fast-acting THC. Each glass has 10mg of THC, meaning you can enjoy it at a dinner party and still be able to talk to everyone. Removing just the alcohol had a great consequence too. Traditional wines have ~150 calories per glass, and our cannabis wine (without the alcohol) has only 49.

Sonoma Cutrer Russian River Ranches Chardonnay 2012, Georgia’s Wine Pick.
No brand new discovery to share with everybody. But instead this week I’ve decided to share with everyone one, for a couple of years now, of my tried and true favourites. I never ever tire of it. It always delivers a mouthful of joy, sip after sip! It’s not an everyday wine, it’s a little pricey Monday-Friday however well worth the $26.95, when you feel like a treat.
The winery is Sonoma Cutrer, California of course…. and the wine is The Sonoma Cutrer Russian River Ranches Chardonnay 2012… an award winning wine, first introduced in 1981… made from grapes from distinct vineyard lots, it is full bodied, rich rich…with flavours of citrus and peach, a creaminess but with beautiful acidity and long finish…. forever on my palate! wonderful wine!

Clos du Bois Calcaire Chardonnay 2013, Susanne’s Wine Pick.
Rebel Wine 2012 The Show Malbec, Susanne’s Wine Pick
Maybe not the most expensive Malbec.
Certainly good bang-for-your-buck wine. Rebel Wine 2012 The Show Malbec is produced by Three Thieves which is owned by Rebel Wines out of California. Despite this, The Show Malbec is made in Mendoza, Argentina home of many great Malbecs. 85% of this wine is from Lujan de Cuyo and the other 15% is from Uco Valley. This blend of fruit from high elevation vineyards in the Uco Valley and Lujan de Cuyo result in a mix of ripe fruit and savoury notes. A great match for grilled steak or game!
Vintages: #375451 $17.95
