Coming up on today’s show, we’ve got Rock Stars!
Of the kitchen that is…. Celebrity chefs today are the new rock stars, with so many cooking shows on the air from Hells Kitchen, to Iron Chef and one of our faves, CHOPPED Canada our daily diet excuse the pun is consumed with celebrity chefs, their talent and the dishing out of critiques.
And speaking of critiques, we, The Wine Ladies have been asked to be Celebrity Judges for Chef Wars, a fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity whereby just like in the TV show CHOPPED Canada, two accomplished chefs, in this case, Chef Andrew Nelson of the Delta Meadowvale Hotel as well as Chef Terry Port, of Personal Chef Solutions will vie for THE winning TITLE creating a fabulous menu using secret ingredients.
And as celebrity judges, we thought we’d reach out for some advice and why not go to the best of the best!
Joining us on the show, Celebrity chef extraordinaire, television host, judge on CHOPPED Canada, cookbook author, and an award winning recording artist,Celebrity Chef Roger Mooking.
Also joining us Executive Chef JohnRoss Woodland, who traded in his hockey skates for chopping knives as he trained to become a professional chef that lead him to fame as a recent winner of CHOPPED Canada winning $10,000 in prize money, and as it happens Roger Mooking was one of the judges that helped make that happen!
We’ll be sure to get a lot of advice from these guys for not only ourselves being judges but also for our next guest Executive Chef Andrew Nelson of the Delta Meadowvale Hotel who is one of the two chefs competing at the CHEF WARS event! Andrew has quite a lineup of awards already attached to his name, so a formidable opponent he will be for sure.
All this excitement and competition will be to raise funds for Habitat for Humanity of Mississauga. Habitat offers a hand up, not a hand out and helps make homes a reality for families in need. Mark Jambrovic, Event Manager, joins us to share all of this with us. It’s going to be a great show.
