Have you tried Spanish wines recently? Yesterday we enjoyed a beautiful media tasting and luncheon featuring the wines of Ribera Del Duero, a wine region in Spain and located in the country’s northern plateau. 
We tasted 14 wines featuring the grape varietals of Tinta del Pais, Cabernet Sauvignon and Tempranillo.

All the wines here are available at the LCBO or through a wine agent here in Ontario.

Véronique won Canada’s Best Sommelier competition in 2006 and in 2012. She won the Wine Woman Award 2007 in Paris and Best Sommelier of the Americas in 2012. After placing twice in the Top Twelve in 2007 and 2010, she became the first woman to make the podium by taking 2nd place at the World’s Best Sommelier competition, in Tokyo in March 2013. V

Winemaking here goes back over 2700 years, as evidenced a pottery piece names krathos founded in Pintia, which has tartrate over its inner part.
