Enjoying a little vino with tenor opera sensation Emilio Fina after a fantastic performance at award winning restaurant Mistura, owned by Celebrity Chef and awesome personality Massimo Capra. In our glasses, an Italian wine from the south of Italy, sometimes referred to as the "Barolo of the South", wines made from the Aglianico grape variety.
O Sole Mio is the debut album from Emilio Fina, the classically trained tenor who won the hearts of viewers on Citytv's Canada’s Got Talent. On this record, Fina sings a mix of Neapolitan songs, opera arias and Broadway hits.
As a nod to our guest Emilio, whose father hails from Naples, capital city of the wine region of Campagnia we thought we'd select this wine made from this grape that is well known in that region. Here we enjoy the Donato D'angelo Aglianico del Vulture 2008. Great fruit with notes of dark cherries and plum, seductive and with staying power… just like the incredible stuning high notes Emilio hits with power and longevity! Amazing lungs to be sure! Aglianico del Vulture, a DOC is so named for Mount Vulture, an extinct volcano believed to have blessed the land below with rich, dark free-draining soils.
